Being not only a Greek deity but also a Roman deity, Eris often gets yanked into all kinds of art and media. Furthermore, the various Discordian cults have managed to get some undeserved and thoroughly unwanted attention, mostly from its own members.

Junk about Discordianism

Books

Principia Discordia

Read from the Start

just read it already or go away

ADD more books from wikipedia or something!!

The Jargon File

The Jargon File is a glossary and usage dictionary of slang used by computer programmers. The original Jargon File was a collection of terms from technical cultures and communities. Due to the widespread presence of Discordianism in hacker culture, Eris and Discordianism are defined here.

Zines

ERISIAN (2020)

First edition (20201010)

Crackpot Anti-Eris Websites

Success begets jealousy, and with that comes unfounded attacks and lousy criticism. Here are some sites dedicated to besmirching Discordianism:

Stuff about just Eris

Television Series

Grim And Evil/The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy (2001-2007)

Eris appears as the Goddess of Chaos (and Discord and All That Rot), a recurring catalyst in the occult-loving show. She is notable here for reintroducing Discordianism to the post-2000 AD generation. At the First Annual TROMAnimation Film Festival, creator Maxwell Atoms confirmed that her inclusion was a result of his interest in Discordianism.

More information can be found on the many wikis dedicated to the show, or by just watching the show you lazy jerk.

KonoSuba: God's Blessing on this Wonderful World! (2012-2013)

Japanese: この素晴らしい世界に祝福を!

I've never seen it so someone rewrite this, weebs. It's an adaptation of a manga where a strangely kind Erisu serves as a main goddess, widely worshipped throughout the land.

Animated Films

Saint Seiya: Evil Goddess Eris (1987)

Other names: 聖闘士星矢 邪神エリス, Saint Seiya: Jashin Eris, Saint Seiya: The Battle with Eris, Saint Seiya: Movie 1, Saint Seiya: The Legend of the Golden Apple

Worth watching... once. Good for some reaction images. Pretty generic magical fight scene fairytale ending anime.

Super Musical Saint Seiya (2011)

Now this you have to try! A live-action musical adaptation of the above anime movie. It's wonderful and I don't even understand Japanese.

Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas (2003)

A film set in the classical Mediterranean, Eris serves here as the main antagonist, and I've heard people say she's well-characterized instead of being a generic movie villain so that's always cool.

Stuff inspired by Discordianism (maybe)

Music

Boards of Canada - Aquarius (1998)

  1. It mentions Orange, the 5th element, constantly.
  2. The final item in the number sequence on the Music Has the Right to Children version is 23.
  3. Version 3 from the Peel Session repeats this number 5 times at the end of the sequence.
  4. The one number in the sequence that cannot be written in Arabic numerals is sixty-ten. (60 - 10) / 10 = 5
  5. Aquarius is therefore a Discordian song.
