Discordianism

Discordianism/Erisianism is the paradigm/religion central to the Discordian Society. Officially thought up by Malaclypse the Younger sometime in YOLD 3124, Discordianism revolves around the worship of Eris, the goddess of Chaos.

Beliefs

The Sacred Chao

Central to the beliefs of Discordianism is the Sacred Chao. The Sacred Chao represents the Unity of Opposites in which Chaos is involved. It is a yin-yang symbol that shows the artificial division of Chaos, known as Order and Disorder. The "balance" that defines it is called Discord, with its rule being the Law of Eristic Escalation.

Law of Fives

The number 5 is considered sacred within Discordianism. The number was chosen to honor Horkos, who was born on the fifth. The Law of Fives states simply that: All things happen in fives, or are divisible by or are multiples of five, or are somehow directly or indirectly appropriate to five.
